My make-up class ended so late last night. Okay, here goes the same saying. You might not be interested in this post but I’m gonna write it down anyway. My friend and I exchanged our models coz doing on the same face every time is not challenging enough. Okay, if your pengantin is going to wear a tudung, the mak andam just need to apply make-up on her face. Don’t have to apply make-up on her neck and ears (reason being, they’re going to be covered anyway). Hmmm… let’s see. I’ve tried the different combinations of using purple and lilac, pink and plum, turquoise and dark blue, silver and blue, light green and plum and so on. I wanted to try something different. Something bright. But, I have never tried using orange eyeshadow before. I’ve always thought using orange eyeshadow is a definite no-no. Blacks on boys movies for free, and easy to download! Well, I decided to challenge my skills (chewah) and opted to use orange. My close friend looked at me… “Kau betul nak use orange? Stick to lilac jer lah. Senang.” I replied: “Senang but boring. Aku nak try warm colors this time. Kau using what colors?” She said: “Lilac and purple. Hehhe. Aku tahu aku use that colors so many times but takper. Ssshhh. Heheh.” The rest of the mak andams were not daring enuff.. they always end up using the same normal colors (baik eyeshadow atau lipstick) for the past few lessons. Sigh. I had the whole image in my mind. I wasn’t going to make my model look like a freak. Instead, I wanted her to look mature and glow like a matured lady. Get what I mean? Pakai tudung ni, muka jadik matured you know.

Cleanse, tone, foundation, highlight, contour, powder and eyebrows. Before I started on the eyeshadow, I did a sample combo on my wrist to see whether the total combination of using orange for base color, deep brown for contouring and metallic beige would be disastrous for my model. I blended the colors together carefully and the total effect looked good on my hand. I showed my colored wrist to my model and as usual, my model doesn’t give me any problems. She said: “Anything lah Noriz. Aku sama macam kau. I’ve always thought orange is awful. Tapi, bila kau blend gitu, the whole combo looks lovely. I’m game. Try. Try. Concentrate okay.”
